5 Ways to Give Your Dog OGS
Administering OGS to your dog can be as easy as sprinkling the prescribed amount for the size of your pup onto their kibble. Other times it can take a bit of creativity. OGS has no taste or smell, and while we usually get lots of great feedback about dogs eating OGS in their dog food; there are certain scenarios where that isn’t possible. Whether your dog has medication at his meal times or is a bit of a picky eater we have some alternative options that usually do the trick.
5 Ways to Give My Dog OGS
Top Dress Dry Kibble with OGS
The most common and undoubtedly the easiest way to give OGS to dogs is by sprinkling the proper dosage over your dog’s dog food. For some dogs, like Lucas or Penny, they’ll lick it off their dog food or out of the bottom of their dish.
Moisten OGS & Dry Kibble with Water
If you’re finding that your dog is a little uncertain about the granular texture of OGS, you can always wet their dog food and OGS. This may make OGS and the kibble stick together and allow your dog to ingest OGS instead of it ending up at the bottom of the bowl.
Add OGS to Wet Dog Food
For smaller dogs or dogs with a specialty diet of wet food, mixing in OGS is easy. Based on our customer feedback, our smallest dog customers seem to be the most particular when it comes to texture so wet food is generally an easy bet to add OGS into their food unnoticed.
Mix OGS with Dog-Safe People-Food
Mixing OGS with dog-safe foods like pureed pumpkin or plain Greek yogurt is a fun and enriching way to supplement your dog. One of our favorite ways to give OGS is by adding it to mashed bananas and stuffing a Kong or other food dispensing toy.
Plain OGS
There have been instances where a pinch of OGS by itself has been helpful. When my pup, Penny, has had bouts of nausea, I’ve put my finger in a bit of water, then a pinch of OGS and stuck it directly on her tongue.
